Zueva Blends Jungle Beats and Introspective Lyricism on Vibrant Cut ‘Later’

‘Later’ caught our undivided attention. Spearheaded by the eclectic and inspired artistry of Norwegian creative Zueva, the single continues the project’s unique and leftfield-driven path, as the talented songstress navigates vulnerable, personal alt-pop and lush electronica with a keen sense of wonder. In that regard, ‘Later’ provides a striking example of the way Zueva is able to fuse introspective lyricism and hard-hitting production. On this occasion, the choice falls on nostalgic jungle beats, all then soaked into cinematic textures and ethereal vocals.

The track follows up from ‘forget’, Zueva’s previous single. Much more nocturne and nuanced, the previous single certainly feels more Zueva-coded, drawing from her previous catalogue with softness and escapism. Instead, ‘Later’ embraces a more positive and dreamy outlook, evident both in the vibrant instrumental but especially in the resilient songwriting behind it.

As the Norwegian artist explains: “Sometimes you meet the right person at the wrong time, and this song is my interpretation of exactly that. At the same time, Later hopes to manifest the idea of ‘having it all’ in the future. I rarely come from this place of confidence, but when I wrote this song, I really needed it.” There’s an EP coming in 2026, ‘Miss U’. Stay tuned!
