Worricka Returns with Instrospective, Nuanced Jewel ‘Love Is Alone’

We found ourselves rather impressed by the number of positive reviews gained by Worricka. The London-based neo-soul talent has so far rallied a conspicuous amount of industry attention around the project, from tastemakers, radio and magazines alike. We then took the matter into our hands – what’s all the fuss about? Well, it turns out that Worricka has one of the most incredible voices we have ever heard, steeped in soulful character, yet deeply nuanced and dynamic.

‘Love Is Alone’ is the strongest evidence of that. Worricka’s latest effort, the record embraces leftfield electronica and minimalism with peculiar flair, allowing the talented creative to float freely over the instrumental with his luscious, evocative tone, one that’s malleable and ever-modulating, but also solid and hard-hitting. His musicianship is off the charts, perhaps on par with his songwriting abilities, constantly exploring introspective territories and looking inward with cathartic eagerness.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Love Is Alone’, Worricka explains: “The track is about heartbreak. ‘My love is alone’ is the idea/question of when you eventually get over/fall out of love with someone, something that at the time seems impossible, then where does all the love you were feeling for that person go? It’s strange. Is it lying dormant, and if so, your love is alone until the next person comes along who can tap into it.”
