The keen reader will gladly remember The Kind Hills from an article we published a couple of weeks ago. In it, we celebrated ‘All Your Promises’ as “a fast-paced, hazy cut packed in carefree, uplifting guitar riffs and luscious female vocals”, as well as teasing an upcoming album. Well, that very same LP was released yesterday in all of its chill-coded, contemporary glory. ‘Little Epiphanies’ is exactly what we’d expect from the talented global outfit.
Originally meeting in Perth many moons ago while studying at a local university, The Kind Hills are a group of like-minded musicians and creatives from all over the world, now seeking to rekindle their artistry in a collective fashion. They do so successfully: ‘Little Epiphanies’ unveils fourteen episodes of indie-driven euphoria, all drenched in hypnotic atmospheres and luscious guitar riffs.
Weaved into moody nostalgia and the longing for simpler, more positive times, ‘Little Epiphanies’ delivers a sonic charge that’s uplifting and hazy, a slice of aural escapism in an otherwise gloomy, complex reality.
