We are pretty ecstatic to have discovered Tan Cologne. Exploring the haziest corners of shoegaze and dream pop, the New Mexico-based duo manage to reach heavenly territories, packing their sound with larger-than-life guitar tones, angelic vocals and a hidden lo-fi allure. Yet, the aural formula manages to retain its elegant character, appearing as a cathartic mirage to anyone out there willing to listen.
We are indeed willing to listen. In fact, we are so ready to lose ourselves in Tan Cologne’s otherworldly sonic universe. We’d love to escape reality, if that’s possible. There’s no ticket for it, but the experience requires us to delve into the band’s latest album, ‘Unknown Beyond’. It’s a fitting title, anticipating the wealth of heartwarming and dystopian textures that patiently await us.
Enough jibber jabber; a record like ‘Unknown Beyond’ deserves to be listened to first-hand, rather than described.
