Sean Macleod Returns with Vibrant, Catchy Effort ‘Cool Charisma’

The keen reader might remember Irish creative Sean Macleod from a feature we published earlier this year, praising ‘Romeo’ as “unfurling a rather approachable and comfy character, a heartwarming and partly nostalgic pop-rock livery that confirms the Irish creative’s relatable songwriting allure and eclectic influences.” We stand by our words; in fact, the talented musician has been navigating with confidence towards pop territories, drawing a line between his solo project and his previous rock-leaning band, Cisco.

Now, it’s time to highlight another one of Macleod’s records: ‘Cool Charisma’. A vibrant, wholesome effort, the single is even more approachable and relatable, jumping into indie-pop territories with fuzzy allure and anthemic melodies. It’s a rather playful effort, a quality that manifests itself during the incredibly catchy and memorable choruses, a section that’s been written to be sung out by the crowd during shows; imagine how epic that would be!

Drawing from an eclectic pool of influences, ‘Cool Charisma’ borrows from retro staples such as The Beatles and The Beach Boys, but also from more contemporary figures, be it U2 or the integrity of the Britpop movement. Whichever way you look at it, there’s no doubt that Macleod is once again confirming himself as a relevant, inspired creative, threading modern music with timeless charisma.
