Six years after the release of their debut album ‘Life Is a Lie’, independent French act Santa Claws are now gearing up for record number two. Titled ‘…So Live and Let Lie’, the band recently put out the second single that will form part of the new record, and it’s a tune that I’ve become completely smitten with!
‘Grain of Sand’ is a nostalgia-laced indie-rock anthem that leaves all the bells and whistles at the door in favour of a clean and classic sound. Slickly produced, it’s a thought-provoking piece of music that speaks to the need of humans to conform and obey in order to feel alive. “Man runs day after day after this need for recognition and wastes his time rather than asserting and defending his uniqueness,” says the band. “We are all grains of sand but together we are the universe”.
A track that sees Santa Claws staying true to their musical values, ‘Grain of Sand’ is more than just a new single for the act. It’s an indication and a commitment to keep going as a band and to never surrender. An absolute gem from start to finish – we truly can’t wait to hear the full album!
