Rose White Signals New Beginning With Soulful Jewel ‘Evil Side’

Often, good things take time. Emerging from London, Polish songstress Rose White returns after a long hiatus, uncovering a newly-found artistic identity which innovates her sounds and her lyricism. Originally debuting in 2018 with the indie number ‘Ride’, she returned earlier this month with a mellower, soulful offering, ‘Evil Side’.

Swapping rock beats for funkier drumming and distorted guitar for jazzy tones, the track offers an interesting glimpse into White’s new beginnings. Shifting into RnB territories, the record is a joy to listen to, placing itself into very precise contemporary settings. Rosie’s bright vocals explore a wide range of melodies, showcasing the London resident’s musical prowess.

Lyrically, the song seeks to highlight a challenging period in its author’s life: “I wrote this song back in 2018, which was a particularly challenging year for me. I struggled with the feeling of loss and being misunderstood; put my dreams on hold, stopped believing in myself. I found a bliss in alcohol, until I met someone who was willing to take a chance on me and help me find a light in a dark tunnel. Initially I wrote this song for them, but with time the ‘you’ became universal.”

Produced with fellow talent Tommy Sigalov, ‘Evil Side’ is the first step towards White’s debut EP, expected in early 2023.
