Pullstring’s ‘The Only Thing’ is a Bittersweet Beauty

Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Pullstring is a new alternative indie-rock act that is creating some serious buzz in the music industry. Their latest single is called ‘The Only Thing’, and the band have described it as being “like if Tom Petty and Neil Young collaborated on a song”. With two of my all-time favourite artists promptly being mentioned as influences…I’m instantly intrigued. Straight away, a Petty-esque guitar riff gets the tune up and running, before the rich and silvery vocals of Alex “Full Tone” Fuller are introduced. The chorus, along with its wailing guitar, is so infectious and memorable. It’s truly the perfect indie-rock track in many ways.

In April this year, Pullstring put out their debut single entitled ‘Sunday Afternoon’. Fast forward just six months, and the band were opening for the internationally touring mega-band We Are Scientists at the famous 7th Street Entry. That’s some ride!

Their debut album is scheduled for release on the 9th of December at the Turf Club in Minneapolis. If you’re lucky enough to be on that side of the world, I would strongly suggest that you make your way down there! As for me, I just can’t wait to hear it!
