Great songs can arise from the most unexpected moments. For Pronto Valid, such moments involve sharing a writing session/hangout with some talented friends, then finding a winning idea that sparks inspiration and creativity. ‘FIRE’ is the perfect evidence of that. Featuring Pronto Valid’s striking rap vocals, Ozzient’s hard-hitting delivery, quadaintshit catchy hooks and Zach Balance’s melancholic backing vocals, the record is incredibly meaningful and dynamic, wrapping listeners into a cathartic universe made up of sharp lyricism and emotional beats.
We actually covered Ozzient and Ponto Valid already, thanks to NLTS, and it’s obvious that the two are good friends. Both staples of the Chicago hip-hop scene, the two creatives share a good songwriting alchemy, also embracing a playful ‘the more, the merrier’ outlook. In ‘FIRE’, one can fully appreciate the power of the collective, an intense and euphoric force that carries the music into vivid and relatable territories.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, Pronto Valid explains: “‘FIRE’ was a single made by complete accident, while having a bunch of homies in the studio at the same time. Ozzient laid down the keys while quadaintshit laid down the hook to the song, and we knew then and there that we had a hit.”
