Night Walks Introduce Themselves with ‘Sidelines’ and ‘Rather Hide’

About two months ago, Baltimore-based alternative rockers Night Walks released their highly anticipated debut singles, and I promise you that the wait has been well and truly worth it! Formed towards the end of 2020, at the height of the pandemic, the band have been sharpening their sound and are now ready to let loose. ‘Sidelines’ is the first tune to take the stage, and it’s a full-bodied, anthemic, and intensely captivating number. Harking back to the spirit of U2 in their zenith, the moody track invites the listener on a rich and melodic journey through time, capturing the essence of a bygone era while still feeling exhilaratingly modern.

‘Rather Hide’ then comes along and completely flips the script. Swapping out the anthemic vibe for a more hazy and groovy soundscape, the focus here is on melodic guitar licks and soul-searching lyrics. Envision the musical lovechild of Fleetwood Mac and The War on Drugs with the gifted vocal fusion of David Bowie and Matt Berninger, and what you’ll get is ‘Rather Hide’.

These two tracks offer the first glimpse into Night Walks’ forthcoming debut full-length album, and they’ve set the bar extremely high for themselves. I have no doubt, however, that they’ll be able to live up to these expectations!
