After having taken a deep look at Msb Mario’s eclectic and unique catalogue, we can declare the project as one of the most striking artistic projects we have come across, at least recently. You see, the Barcelona-based creative defines himself as a spoken-word artist, something that involves a great deal of cross-genre influences and intense, brooding vocal delivery. Mario’s artistry moves on a spectrum, going from avant-garde spoken word explorations to mainstream-leaning reggaeton pieces (like his latest release, ‘Al Son Son Son’).
Known as ‘El Niño de la Pili’, Msb Mario will visit the UK very shortly for a couple of special shows: Newcastle’s The Cluny on June 4th (tickets here), and Brighton’s Folklore Rooms on June 27th (get your tickets now). The two dates follow up from a string of 25 shows across his home town of Barcelona, as well as a triumphant evening at the legendary Hootananny Brixton in London. In fact, he just became the first Spanish spoken-word artist to take the stage there.
Boasting millions of views on some of his recent releases, which can be found on YouTube with their relative videoclips, Msb Mario appears to be enjoying a period of enhanced creative fertility, a journey that will likely take him onto bigger and bigger stages.
