McKee Thatcher Tells a Tale of Love in ‘I Guess That’s Love’

The ability to write relatable, memorable and catchy tunes is a hard one to master. And yet, McKee Thatcher manages to do exactly that, almost effortlessly. What’s more, he’s also a sonic explorer, championing a luscious blend of dreamy electronica and alternative pop. A gifted musician and multi-instrumentalist, Thatcher is the sole proprietor of his artistic output. In fact, his music gets mostly recorded in his own bedroom studio: that’s where ‘I Guess That’s Love’ took shape, the project’s latest effort.

The record is a journey through the ups and downs of love, with Thatcher’s haunting vocals and intricate production weaving a captivating tale. The song builds slowly, with a heavy and introspective tone that perfectly captures the weight of past heartbreak. But as it progresses, it all blooms, with charming synths and arpeggiators marking an emotional outro.

As McKee himself declares, “Love likes to come when you’re least expecting it.” The same could be said of success in the music industry. But with his talent, dedication, and passion, there is no doubt the American talent will continue to create material that captivates listeners and inspires them to explore the depths of their own emotions.
