Liz Nash Shares Wholesome Country Gem ‘Little Heart Attacks’

A keen songwriter and gifted singer, Liz Nash possesses the rather unique ability to wrap vivid, interesting and relatable storytelling in a musical livery, crafting songs that resonate with a wide audience. ‘Little Heart Attacks’ is the perfect evidence of that, a stunning nugget of wholesome country vibes and simple yet effective lyricism. Boasting a playful quality that sets it apart from anything contemporary, the single embraces a certain old-school component, filling every listener with nostalgia and veiled euphoria.

One could also dance to ‘Little Heart Attacks’, although we know nothing about that – we’re European, after all. Liz Nash certainly knows more! Hosting songwriting retreats a few times a year, the Florida-based songstress has found success in empowering others to express themselves through music. This all adds to her wisdom-filled aura, making the project quite heartwarming and welcoming.

Recorded by John Marsden in Orlando, Florida, ‘Little Heart Attacks’ also features Jeff King on guitar, Oskar Cartaya on bass, and Paul Alexander Gonzalez on drums. Written as a playful take on the ‘opposite attracts’ theory, the song sees Nash asking herself what happens if such difference between two romantic partners becomes unsustainable?

As she explains: “This story song is told in the first person. She is an anxiety prone person and is dating an adrenaline junkie. It describes their differences and how he gives her ‘little heart attacks.’ In the third verse, you see what they see, ‘as living life to its fullest.’ To him, it’s living on the edge; to her, it’s living a safe and secure life.”
