Acting as a powerful and towering follow-up to last year’s ‘NEVER LIKED YOU ANYWAY’, ‘I SEE LIGHT’ showcases once again the incredibly pop prowess championed by London-based sonic explorer Leiyah. Known for her eclectic and purposeful take on contemporary pop, the Croydon-born songstress is not afraid to delve into a wide bucket of influences – influences that this time around take the shape of punchy new wave and synthwave territories.
Such a hard-hitting instrumental, coupled with Leiyah’s soaring, luscious vocals, ends up transforming the record into an introspective and personal anthem, one that takes ample inspiration from Leiyah’s long-standing divine beliefs. As she eloquently explains: “It’s about my own deep and heartfelt struggle for clarity and purpose in a world full of distractions and societal expectations. In this process, I find myself seeking divine guidance, looking to God for direction amidst the uncertainty.”
Supported by the likes of BBC Radio 1, Wonderland and Clash Magazine, Leiyah is set to achieve incredible heights in her artistic career. Having refined her musicianship skills at the prestigious BRIT School, we are confident she’ll soon be a household name in the British and global music industry.
