Kelsie Kimberlin Keeps the Conversation Going with Forceful New Tune ‘Vlad’

One artist that we’ve followed extensively this year has been the Ukrainian-American singer Kelsie Kimberlin. With an unwavering support for her home country, the musician recently released an incredible trilogy of tunes about Ukraine, and we had the privilege of covering them all. Kelsie now makes her return with ‘Vlad’, a track that she’d had up her sleeve for a while, but now feels ready for the world to hear.

Taking on an almost punk-rock feel, it’s a song that sees Kimberlin embracing a sound that we haven’t really heard from her before. It’s forceful and in-your-face, perhaps an echo of the forgotten, and a reminder that sometimes volume is needed to reclaim lost attention.

“My goal is to get people to both think about whether the global community can allow such evil to persist,” says Kelsie. “And to keep the focus on the daily atrocities that are taking place in Ukraine”.

In February of this year, I said that Kimberlin was undoubtedly one to watch out for in the coming months and years. Millions of streams, views, and radio appearances later, her musical trajectory has only strengthened and solidified my position.
