Ines Rae Gears Up for Upcoming EP with ‘Breadcrumbs’

We are fully aware of Ines Rae’s greatness. Last year, we enjoyed the uplifting, vibrant gem ‘Flinch’, a piece that was virtually perfect: catchy, enticing and evocative, an irresistible slice of mainstream pop. Now, Rae returns with her latest offering, ‘Breadcrumbs’. Anticipating the project’s upcoming EP, the single takes a more eclectic stance, employing anthemic grooves within a minimal melodic framework. It all then comes down to Rae’s dynamic, majestic vocals, especially in the chorus, guiding listeners through the aftermath of a breakup.

“I can’t get over us” – Ines eloquently sings. Despite the potential for poignancy and painful imagery, ‘Breadcrumbs’ appears to take a more playful and hopeful direction, recognising the personal implications of the breakup, yet keeping the energy and spirits high, especially in the piece’s aural livery.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the upcoming EP, Rae explains: “This EP symbolises all the things that are toxic to me. From how my mind messed with my relationship with food, how mean girls messed with my self-confidence and how boys messed with my head. I’ve called it breadcrumbs because even the tiniest bit of bread, as a celiac, is so toxic to my body. It seemed a fitting title for all the things in life that are also toxic to me. I’m so excited for ‘Breadcrumbs’ to be the first single from this EP, and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”
