Quicche Unveils Transformative, Cathartic Album ‘Frisia’

A special, nuanced album, ‘Frisia’ is out today via R&S Records. It’s easy to understand why such a prominent label decided to champion German composer Quicche; the record is extremely expansive and soothing, a stunning slice of folktronica and leftfield prowess laced with evocative vocals and cinematic textures. That’s all we could wish for, really. Featuring ten tracks, ‘Frisia’ showcases Quicche’s most vulnerable character, opening up about painful personal experiences and societal expectations.

Known by day as Marc Grünhäuser, the talented creative wrote the album during a stay in a secluded house in East Frisia (Northern Germany), allowing him space to breathe and reflect, truly connecting with his inner consciousness and limitless creativity. The results speak for themselves, meaningful and introspective matter with a high degree of relatability. From a sonic standpoint, Quicche doesn’t refrain from pushing boundaries, for instance in ‘In Their Bed’, a perfect example of bass-driven leftfield electronica.

Here’s ‘Frisia’ for you. Out today, in all its transformative power and inspiring depths. We’d highly recommend you save some time alone to enjoy the album in its most authentic form, absorbing all of the aural catharsis that will inevitably float your way.
