Foundry Town Survivors Deliver a Legendary Tale in ‘Three Sisters’

Hailing from Michigan, Foundry Town Survivors champion a raw, wholesome and anthemic character, often steeped in fuzzy rock’n’roll and blues-rock elements. On this occasion, the talented duo may well enter folk territories, at least lyrically. Embracing an epic tale of the high seas, Foundry Town Survivors write about the Three Sisters, a colloquial name for a series of three large waves hitting a ship in rapid succession. A dangerous phenomenon, ‘Three Sisters’ has now become a song – and a video.

Mark Tomorsky and Tommy Johnsmiller are the creative humans behind Foundry Town Survivors. Blending roots guitar riffs and playful vocal motifs, the duo is able to develop a sound that’s inherently nostalgic and retro, yet never obvious or derivative. ‘Three Sisters’ is the perfect example of that, with its electrifying guitar distortions and potent arrangements. The outro is a particularly epic moment, with Foundry Town Survivors introducing female backing vocals and decadent, haunting harmonies.

An evocative music video has been released alongside the single, depicting the legendary tale behind ‘Three Sisters’. As FTS explain: “These brave sailors, led by a valiant captain, are simply trying to make a living out on these dangerously unpredictable, massive bodies of water, but these three mysterious, villainous, ruinous female succubi have other plans.”
