Eric Tano Shares Latest Effort ‘Past Lovers’

We listened to ‘Past Lovers’ a few times. Honestly, it’s such a luscious slice of modern pop, it really showcases Tano’s songwriting prowess, while placing him at the forefront of the new music scene. Sonically, we are in electro-pop, retro-flavoured territories, perhaps engaging in a veiled psych hype too. It’s a kaleidoscopic record: it moves dynamically and intensively, wrapping the listener in multi-coloured euphoria. We quite love it. Praise must also be directed to Eric’s engaging vocals, exceptionally precise and catchy. They are drenched in a saturated goo, making them fizzier and fiercer.

Emerging from Florida, Eric Tano has long championed music as his passion, starting out as a bassist as a teenager and then developing into a fully-fledged producer, multi-instrumentalist and singer. We are pleased to observe his music getting stronger and stronger release after release, a sign that the American artist is on the right path.

Lyrically, ‘Past Lovers’ explores the aftermath of a failed relationship, and the many hours spent reflecting on what went wrong. As Tano explains: “Have you ever stayed up late wondering what went wrong in past relationships? “Past Lovers” is a song about yearning for someone when it won’t work out. Best listened to when feeling energetic, sad, or melancholic, this song brings out the best of electronic music for those seeking comfort or validation.”
