Caleb L’Etoile Gets Inspired by Halloween in Haunting, Unhinged Single ‘Starling’

‘Starling’ marks our point of entry into Caleb L’Etoile’s artistic universe. Gloomy, intense and haunting, the track’s sonic matter unfolds with a certain rowdiness, a blend of post-punk and indie fuzziness delivering a strikingly decadent and gritty listening experience. We are not complaining; such a magnetic and gripping aural livery is what keeps us hooked. American singer and songwriter Caleb L’Etoile’s sparkly and euphoric vocals are the perfect match for such a hard-hitting record.

Taken from the overarching album ‘PS’, out now, ‘Starling’ is part of a yearly tradition for the American creative. You see, Caleb loves Halloween, but he loves even more writing material that’s directly related to such festivity; unhinged, eerie and spooky songs that aim to impress, evoking a strong reaction in anyone brave enough to listen. This time around, ‘PS’ drops with a whopping ten tracks, breaking the EP tradition. It looks like L’Etoile has something to say. He does so very loudly.

Delving deeper into ‘PS’ and ‘Starling’, Caleb explains: “Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. I love everything about it, from the campy to the spooky and all colors in between. Halloween for me means fall weather, costumes, spooky movies, listening to too much Misfits (Danzig era), kettle corn, and haunted houses. It’s dark, dumb, chaotic, mysterious, and pretty punk rock.”
