BIAS Shares Stunning Cover Rendition of ‘Can’t stand losing you’

Hailing from Imola, Italy, BIAS has been active for just a couple years, yet, he’s been keen on pursuing his particular brand of fuzzy electronica, often blending it with modern rap lyricism borrowed from the contemporary Italian tradition. The results are pretty notable, showcasing the work of an artist not afraid to push boundaries and try to innovate. After a plethora of original singles, quite eclectic in their sonic references and general attitudes, BIAS focuses on covering timeless classics, drenched in the project’s unique musical sauce.

Following up from previous release ‘Love will tear us apart’, a modern-day rendition of Joy Division’s biggest tune, the Italian talent returns with another British legend, Sting. This time is ‘Can’t stand losing you’ getting the BIAS treatment. It’s glorious: the track is encased into an analogue-flavoured, glitch-powered electronic production, the kind of gooey, artificial and abstract electronica someone could make using a modular synthesiser.

The stark contrast between this complex sonic matter and the more relatable topline is perhaps one of the strong points of the record, really managing to draw the listener into its haunting, evocative and experimental universe. The stunning vocals are courtesy of singer Lorenzo “Montaxx” Montanari, a powerful addition to the musical recipe.
