BAÏKI Are Critical of Our Failing Reality with ‘KosmoX’

Hailing from Belgium, BAÏKI present ‘KosmoX’, a bold and rebellious punk anthem steeped in meaningful and observant lyricism.

Bands like BAÏKI are not here to offer ear candy. They are not even here to follow trends or experiment with a proven formula. Simply, they are here to describe the dysfunctional reality that we are living in, penning songs packed with a heightened, meaningful flair. Sometimes, the Belgian band might enjoy a tongue-in-cheek lyrical journey. Other times, they’ll sound fierce and even quite angry. ‘KosmoX’ is the perfect evidence of that.

Marking BAÏKI’s latest effort, the record draws influences from the global AI race and the dystopian goals of certain tech companies, asking themselves whether humanity is truly ready for such life-changing technologies. This idea is laid upon bold and loud pop-punk goodness, old-school rock flair for modern theming. ‘KosmoX’ also ships with an ingenious music video, directed and edited by Yves Huppen. Watch it below!

Delving deeper into the complex ethos that propels the song, BAÏKI explains: “Are humans capable of living in peace without identifying an enemy to hate? Unfortunately, it would appear that humankind is incapable of thinking in terms of non-conflict. Perhaps, in order to stop tearing each other apart, we will one day have to turn on the aliens?” We feel as though the song directly connects with our chaotic and unruly times, so much so that people will likely relate to it.
