Anna Thoresen Returns with Fierce, Honest Anthem ‘DIRTY LAUNDRY’

We last wrote about Los Angeles-based pop-rock sensation Anna Thoresen back in January, celebrating ‘LONELY’ as a “unique blend of grit and grace evoking the timeless spirit of rock’s greatest icons.” We stand by our words: Thoresen has been getting better release after release, slowly refining an explosive, relatable formula that favours gritty guitars and meaningful, introspective vocals. Well… the talented songstress’ latest effort ‘DIRTY LAUNDRY’ fits the brief perfectly, delivering a striking, empowering anthem drenched in personal experience and emotional reckoning.

‘DIRTY LAUNDRY’ sounds pretty flawless, an impressive result given Thoresen’s DIY ethos. A gifted songwriter and producer, the American creative went out of her way to record all instruments live, with fellow musician Danelle Koppell lending a helping hand. Anna’s towering, sky-reaching vocals are a joy to listen to, incredibly precise and electrifying. ‘DIRTY LAUNDRY’ is a rather personal piece, one that explores the negative sides of a past relationship as well as the challenges of being a woman in today’s dating landscape.

As Thoresen eloquently explains: “This song felt like it had been brewing inside of me for years, and I was finally able to get it out after having a bad experience with a guy. Even though that sucked, I’m grateful for the experience because without him I may have never been able to write this song.”
