Alec Berlin Returns with Mellow and Groovy Number ‘LaNoise’

We got to know American guitar expert Alec Berlin during the past few months, joining him in the release trail for EP ‘Life in a Bog’. He’s notable for championing a very specific musical ethos, one that makes him a complete musician, not just an instrumentalist. As we described him: “the strength of Berlin’s artistic output is the way he conceptualises his guitar playing. He’s not ‘shredding’ for the sake of it, he’s drawing melodies, building songs, and using his guitar as a sort of alternative vocal tone, making it the centrepiece of his compositions.”

Now, Berlin adds a brand new track to his ever-growing catalogue, exploring mellower, groovier and more composed territories. Inspired by famous producer and guitarist Daniel Lanois, ‘LaNoise’ sees Alec’s sharp guitar skills put to use over clean tones, country riffing and a certain sense of comfort, channelled by a composition that feels homely, warm, the perfect companion for downtime and relaxation.

An established performer in the NYC music scene, Berlin emerged on the international record pool only recently, making the most of his natural compositional skills. He’s always researching melodies, structure, and resolutions. No notes are being wasted on unnecessary arpeggios, stylish tapping action, or mind-bending solos. Rather, Berlin guides you through a fictional artistic world of his own creation.
