Night Wolf is at it again! The Bedford-based producer and composer has now become a familiar face on our blog, both for his collaborations with Lois Powell and, as we’ll now explain, with The Fods. Night Wolf is very keen on writing cinematic material that would work well as a soundtrack to videos and movies. If you were ever interested in licensing any of his material, just connect with him. Perhaps ‘Kickback’ would fit your brief?
Marking his first official collaboration with transatlantic outfit The Fods, the record strikes a functional contrast between folk-like orchestral soundscapes and hip-hop-coded beats. The listening experience is kinetic, but also anthemic and introspective, with The Fods’ bold and malleable vocals crowning Night Wolf’s eclectic and hypnotic production. ‘Kickback’ is an official remake of a previous release by The Fods, with the British producer preserving the original vocals, then building a brand new arrangement around them.
Delving deeper into the ethos that propels ‘Kickback’, Night Wolf explains. “You can picture someone driving away without a care in the world. It would sit well in commercials, adverts and film scenes with depth and meaning. A blend of styles, genres and backgrounds coming together.” Once again, Night Wolf showcases his musical expertise and nuanced cinematic flair.
