LGee Drops Hard-Hitting Single ‘Strike’

‘Strike’ hits listeners like a brick, showcasing its intense, urgent character from the get-go. A shout-out must be given to LGee’s raw, vivid vocals, here drenched in hard-hitting distortion and fierce lyrical flair.

‘Strike’ marks LGee’s latest release, as well as his first drop of the year. It’s good to see him back with new music; we are told that he’s completed his music production course. That might explain how ‘Strike’ sounds so massive and hard-hitting. We are big fans of the extremely distorted hip-hop beat, it’s almost crushed, with the 808 taking up a wealth of harmonics. From a sonic standpoint, the record feels more like a hybrid of grime and more conventional trap influences, yet it has a heightened electronic allure too.

Partly inspired by Esdeekid and Rico Ace, alongside the wider UK underground scene, ‘Strike’ hits listeners like a brick, showcasing its intense, urgent character from the get-go. A shout-out must be given to LGee’s raw, vivid vocals, here drenched in hard-hitting distortion and fierce lyrical flair. As one might expect, the record was entirely written, produced and performed by the Bristol-based artist himself.

Delving deeper into the inspiration behind the record, LGee explains: “After coming to the end of my music production course at university, I really wanted to make something that came straight from my brain, something personal that reflected the type of music I like to listen to and make. To prove I can make professional-level music after studying hard”. It turns out that he can indeed, and he should be proud of how the track turned out. A bright future lies ahead.
