VOGEL Share Tender and Reflective Folk Gem ‘La Pleine Lune’

We deeply appreciate the tender philosophical take behind ‘La Pleine Lune’. Written by Dutch wanderer Folk duo VOGEL, the piece stands out as a reflection of impermanence and authenticity, highlighting how acceptance is often the key to meaningful conscious living. It’s a simple ethos that’s often overlooked by the common man. At the same time, it’s also a complex dive into what makes us human, starting with mindfulness and ending with stoicism. We’ll leave the philosophical work to the qualified thinkers out there.

For now, VOGEL’s wonderful artistry will be enough for us (you see? We are already practising what the duo taught us). Spearheaded by experienced busker and singer-songwriter Anette Vogel on guitar and vocals, the pair also features Mario Kaspers on bass. Such a musical partnership has been ongoing since 2015, with the pair touring all around the world, yet never forgetting their busking roots. In fact, travelling is part of the project’s foundational ethos, a passionate drive in favour of raw and intimate street performances.

‘La Pleine Lune’ showcases VOGEL in their best light, entering heartwarming folk territories with a touch of melancholia and lyrical catharsis. Annette’s malleable, gentle vocals feel highly hypnotic and ethereal, a sensation that’s counterpointed by the record’s grounding, organic instrumentation.
