Uinu Shares Epic Cinematic Wonder ‘Running’

If you are looking for cinematic lusciousness, you just found it. ‘Running’ showcases all of the epicness and cathartic allure that Finnish songstress Uinu has to offer.

It’s not a secret that a press outlet called Mesmerized would love and relate to the hypnotic music crafted by Uinu. Hailing from Finland, the talented songstress draws inspiration from the Scandinavian natural landscape and the heightened mystique of her homeland, landing somewhere in between hazy escapism and spiritual folk-like melancholy. ‘Running’ is the perfect example of that. Marking our point of contact with Uinu’s peculiar and evocative aural universe, the track unfolds slowly and with purpose, jumping from sparse, ethereal vocals to full-on cinematic elegance.

Speaking of cinematic, Uinu’s talent for building such compelling sonic soundscapes did not go unnoticed. Teaming up with Los Angeles-based producer Greg Johnson, she was able to build a fruitful partnership that longs for sync placements as well as general global recognition. ‘Running’ moves fiercely towards such goals, standing out as a blend of James Bond-esque intensity and Enya-like expansive lusciousness.

Of course, ‘Running’ also shines bright on its own light. Soundtrack ambitions aside, it’s a highly wonderful piece, a song that unveils an emotionally-charged, cathartic listening experience. As we are told, the song does not exist in a vacuum, instead being part of a larger thematic release: “part of an upcoming concept album about a soul divided into feminine and masculine forms, exploring themes of separation, identity, and unconditional love.”
