The keen reader might remember Manchester-based troubadour Tim Camrose. Writing about ‘She Saw Dolphins’ earlier this year, we proudly celebrated the single as “a slow-paced, evocative ballad, steeped in nostalgia and melancholia”. We felt quite hypnotised by Camrose’s vocals; simple, yet poignant and hard-hitting. His lyricism is vibrant and heartfelt, truly wrapping listeners into a meaningful and relatable listening experience.
Recently, Camrose returned with his latest effort ‘Going to Nashville’, a charmingly country-flavoured gem steeped in dreamy energy and personal imagery. Centred around the mythical idea of visiting Nashville at some point – a city that’s central to Tim’s musical influences – the song draws a parallel with young Camrose, a talented creative who once had to put art aside to become a successful doctor and surgeon.
While that’s still a great achievement in itself, the willingness to write songs never really left the British troubadour alone. To note, he’s been in the US a few times already, but never to Nashville, giving a wholesome and real flair to the single. As Camrose explains, it would be great to go, “not as a big star, but just to have the audience listen and enjoy his songs for one night in the great music city.”
