The Venus Figurines Share Hard-Hitting Album ‘Modern Paradigm’

Ten tracks that will – with all probabilities – draw the keen rock listeners into The Venus Figurines‘ dark, electrifying and punchy distorted universe. Emerging from Tasmania, the group has recently shared their latest effort, an album that we are confident will go a long way in gaining them a larger audience. ‘Modern Paradigm’ gets introduced by ‘Holiday’, a track that fully encapsulates the group’s commitment to dissonance, screaming vocals and hard-hitting riffs. It is clear they place themselves at the intersection of metal and alt-rock.

‘The Real Me’ widens the record’s scope, perhaps embracing the band’s punk side a little bit more. Vocally, college rock vibes are in order. ‘So Shallow’ returns to unapologetic, destructive distortions, as if The Venus Figurines were to say “You had your rest, now back into the grinding vault”. That’s pretty much the script for the rest of the album, with ‘Changing Tides’ taking it to a close in a rather hard fashion.

Speaking about the lyricism behind the release, the band explains: “Modern Paradigm’ embodies the cycles of human connection and nature versus nurture with themes consisting of love, hope, and self-realisation to dealing with loss, abuse of power, and toxicity”.
