Songs for Sabotage Release Moody Electro-Pop Jewel ‘Pills’

Lina Sophie and Richey Rose are two Los Angeles-based musicians who make up the alternative dream pop act Songs for Sabotage. On the duo’s latest hard-hitting single ‘Pills’, they take the listener on a sonic adventure filled with deep and bouncy synths, pounding bass, and the ethereal and dynamic vocals of Lina. There’s a dark and menacing undertone throughout the tune, and that pairs perfectly with the song’s overall message. “‘Pills is about a toxic past version of yourself,” says the duo. “Where you used to be up all night partying and sleeping all day”.

‘Pills’ is the first of several singles that Songs for Sabotage plan on releasing before their second album ‘Clean Trauma’ is unveiled in the fall. If I’m being honest…It’s tough to pin down their sound genre-wise – but I think that’s a big part of the appeal! Both artists share a love for Swedish pop, 80s alternative/first wave, and 00s indie music, a rather eclectic mix that undoubtedly gives them their signature sound!

‘Pills’ is a classic! It’s such a well-put-together and constructed track. It’s also a lesson in change, resolve, and swallowing that bitter pill when you have to. I and the team eagerly await to hear ‘Clean Trauma’ in full!
