Soft Top Intrepid Get as Hazy as They Can in ‘Pause’

I’d describe ‘Pause’ as a comfortable, dreamy piece. That’s especially true for me, since I love shoegaze tones, washed-out guitars and hazy imagery. Does anyone remember the bus journey back from school or uni? When the day is done, and we can all enjoy a mindless trip home? Well, this song would be the perfect soundtrack for that. ‘Pause’ would be my slice of heaven during my bus journey home. A space to escape, dream deeply, and find solace in the gentle and soothing sonic energy delivered by Soft Top Intrepid

Hailing from Ottawa, the Canadian duo has clear ideas about where they are headed. Oscillating between indie, dream pop and shoegaze, Rob LaPlante and Chris Galambos drown themselves in a myriad of textures and lush effects, yet never losing sight of relatability and friendliness, penning a tune that’s as much alternative as it is pop-lenient.

About the record, Soft Top Intrepid explains: “Reminiscent of times and memories that once stood in front of you in the not-so-distant future, ‘Pause’ reflects on reminding yourself to live in the moment and take it all in before it’s over.”
