Slipped off Silk’s Latest Tune ‘Revolve’ is the Perfect Indie-Rock Tonic

‘Revolve’ is the catchy and dynamic new single from Michigan-based singer/songwriter Jonathan Martin, who performs under the moniker Slipped off Silk. Described by the artist as a tune “for all the procrastinators out there,” ‘Revolve’ was initially planned as a one-year anniversary track for Martin’s partner. “The deadline was missed and now here we are nine months later,” he admits. As for the song itself, ‘Revolve’ is one of the most polished and shiny indie-rock tunes I’ve heard all year. The bouncy piano, that gritty guitar intertwined with hard-hitting synths, and Martin’s heartfelt vocals, all culminate into a ridiculously infectious and captivating track.

Drawing on influence from the likes of FINNEAS, Oasis, and Death Cab for Cutie, Slipped off Silk has cooked up a wonderful and alluring sound all of his own. He writes and produces all of his music from his home studio, and is steadily building up a dedicated, loyal, and well-earned fanbase.

There’s something special and noteworthy to ‘Revolve’ that I can’t quite put my finger on, but I guess that’s the beauty of music. It’s a song that has stolen my heart and is going straight onto my playlist, and I can’t wait to explore more offerings from this talented musician.
