Shervin Boloorian Calls For Peace in ‘My Free Heart’

We often forget that songs can and should spread helpful, positive messages. It’s almost a lost art these days, though not for Shervin Boloorian. The talented refugee-turned artist has long made a name for himself among the global music community, and can often be observed penning relatable, poignant records with empowering lyricism and meditative arrangements. ‘My Free Heart’ is Boloorian’s latest effort, and takes a rather special place in Shervin’s catalogue.

Advocating for lasting peace in the Middle East, the piece has been recorded both in English and Persian, paying homage to Boloorian’s native land, Iran. With ‘My Free Heart’, the talented creative seeks to remind everyone about the crucial importance of working towards global peace and unconditional freedom, also offering a soothing aural respite to those enduring tragic circumstances. As Shervin explains: “This song is my tribute to anyone who has ever stood up for freedom and dignity. It’s also my way of sharing the beauty and humanity of Iran with the world.”

Produced by Sting’s award-winning collaborator Kipper Eldridge, ‘My Free Heart’ benefits from illustrious features, the likes of bass legend Carl Young, classically trained multi-instrumentalist Sakari Heikka, and a hypnotic music video with visuals by Dr Hardini Dyah Astuti.
