A busy and committed DJ and producer, Chicago-based Sherm is a bit of a do-it-all. Running his own successful podcast series ‘Sherm in the Booth’ and acting as head of A&R for Hood Politics Records, the American creative experiences music from all angles, a quality that allows him to deeply understand what works in the industry and what doesn’t. We can observe exactly that in his latest release, ‘Second Round’. Taking up sharp, tech-house-flavoured goodness, the piece is incredibly tight and groovy, delivering an euphoric, high-octane EDM journey for any keen fan out there.
Sherm has recently appeared at the Coors Light Snake Pit Pre-Party in Indianapolis, a welcome milestone, seen as he’s originally from Indiana. We can only imagine the number that ‘Second Round’ did on that dancefloor crowd. The track is very well-produced, with a catchy vocal sample guiding the listening experience towards pure escapism and joy-filled summer moments. It is also a highly collaborative effort, with fellow artists Issac Palmer, Amero and Devarra joining in on the fun.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, Sherm explains: “Everyone who is familiar with me and my music knows that I love to make club-ready records. ‘Second Round’ is right in line with that mission, and my collaborators on the track had the same mindset. I’ve previously collaborated with Isaac Palmer and Amero on “Going Numb”, but the idea all started from Devarra. This was the opposite of “too many cooks in the kitchen” because the final product is extremely tasty. Let’s go!”.
