Said Sara Returns with Soothing Folk Gem ‘Same’

The story behind this record showcases two things: first, that personal taste doesn’t have to be confined to a specific thing, instead it’s more of an attitude, a global outlook on life and art. Second, the pandemic really shook things up when it comes to re-igniting the lost flame of creativity. All of the above is equally true for Said Sara, talented musician and songwriter emerging from San Francisco. His latest record – ‘Same’ – takes the shape of a mellow and nostalgic acoustic gem: definitely a worthy listening experience.

We would have never guessed Sara’s past as a metalhead and fierce punk rebel – is it not inspiring to find such delicate songwriting after years behind monstrous distortions? This is perhaps a sign that music is an attitude, rather than a process. Said has the sensitivity for it, and it shows. ‘Same’ is the project’s latest effort, described as Sara’s “most intimate and catchy song to date”.

A soothing, mellow and relaxing tune, ‘Same’ builds upon an arpeggiated acoustic guitar and simple but evocative vocals, managing to transport the listener in a fictional yet substantial scenario, a place where we can appreciate Sara’s refined lyrical imagery. Part of Said’s post-2020 artistic rebirth, we are confident the record will find a large audience.
