Sabrina Movitz’s Moving Debut EP ‘How It Works Out’ was Worth the Wait

Sabrina Movitz is a truly gifted singer/songwriter and guitarist hailing from Washington, DC. Having spent five years learning the ropes as a producer, her debut EP ‘How It Works Out’ is finally out for all to hear! She did work alongside Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Andrew Garver (U2, Chris Cornell, Madonna, and others), but the entire EP is self-produced by Sabrina. The title/opening track along with ‘Say My Name’ have both sweetly been labelled as “sibling songs” due to their similar atmospheric, dark, and synth-filled soundscapes as well as their lyrical content. Both are absolutely beautiful tunes as Movitz places you in a warm and inviting environment where you can’t wait to hear more.

‘Crescendo’ and ‘Horizon Line’ are also “siblings”, this time sharing a more simple and acoustic sonic and thematic space. ‘Crescendo’ is actually entirely a cappella, with expertly layered vocal harmonies that showcase just what an unbelievable singer Sabrina actually is.

‘Coming Down’ and a remix of ‘Crescendo’ make up the rest of ‘How It Works Out’. I won’t say a word about them, and I’ll allow you to discover their genius all on your own. Influenced by the likes of Lorde, Maggie Rogers, and Rina Sawayama, Sabrina Movitz is here – and she means business!
