Roadsignn Debut with Eclectic Gem ‘Terrence’

Marking Roadsignn’s debut effort, ‘Terrence’ is a rather special record. It’s hard to pinpoint it to a specific genre or influence, and it’s fair to say that the track basks in eclecticism and uniqueness. Taking a wider look at the project, it’s obvious how such a kaleidoscopic aural formula also acts as one of Roadsignn’s foundational qualities; hailing from the UK, the young group explores music as a holistic entity, borrowing from folk, funk and soul in the process.

‘Terrence’ is the strongest evidence of that. Packed with playful grooves and a certain minimalism, the track flourishes on light percussion, gentle guitars and a timeless sonic aura. The main course is served by Roadsignn’s vocal arrangements, proudly embarking on a flurry of charming harmonies and catchy melodies. Defining themselves as “a collective of songwriters, musicians and creatives”, Roadsignn appear to have struck gold with a style that is uniquely theirs. That’s a phenomenal advantage in the modern music industry.

Delving deeper into the inspiration behind the song, the British outfit explains: “It exposes the point between fury and freedom in the downfall of a friendship. It describes a twisted bond, one to a figure who appeared as a mentor but moved like a saboteur”.
