Ricky Leroy Brown Shares Playful Piece ‘The Redhead Blues’

A rather playful and tongue-in-cheek offering, ‘The Redhead Blues’ does a good job of depicting Ricky Leroy Brown‘s eclectic life in sonic form, delving into a hard break-up that left him financially strained, even ‘furious’, as he so boldly describes it. Yet, even among such painful circumstances, he manages to retain his cool, at least on an artistic level, delivering a simple yet multifaceted track that we are confident will relate to many listeners out there.

Wrapped in fast-paced grooves and rock & roll euphoria, ‘The Redhead Blues’ follows an old-school formula, one that works very well given the context. In it, Brown is able to let his whimsical imagination and hypnotising moves run free, capturing the listeners’ attention from the first note to the last. Let’s not forget: the lyrical message is the real star here, with Ricky standing tall and proud in the face of adversities.

As the Madrid-based creative explains: “I had a rough time with my ex-girlfriend. The breakup was ugly, and it got worse over time. My role in the breakup was clear; I was the one who deceived her, but she became very money-focused at the end, and I couldn`t take it anymore. I was so furious, she tried to suck me dry and I had to write some kind of revenge song. Which is silly because she didn`t deserve it, but here we are!”
