We stand by our words: guided by head honcho Jason McKee, ReeToxA has landed on an electrifying, timeless formula, one that feels rooted in tradition but looks fiercely ahead. Today, we’ll focus on a specific single taken from the aforementioned album, ‘War Killer’.
Shipped with a regular version and a karaoke (instrumental) one, ‘War Killer’ indulges in haunting and fierce rock’n’roll action, something that is well reflected by the roaring guitar riffs and rolling drums, as well as by McKee’s potent vocals, here showcasing their distorted character and catchy melodism.
From a lyrical standpoint, ‘War Killer’ explores a rather peculiar storyline, one drenched in geopolitics and peace negotiations. The song draws from Jason McKee’s personal experience, and the surprise in seeing the US having a meeting with North Korea during the pandemic period. As we are told: “During the COVID pandemic, Donald Trump made peace with North Korea over the phone. Being a former Royal Australian Navy sailor and from a military family, North Korea was always seen as the biggest threat. To end the tension and conflict with a phone call will always blow Jason away.”
