Reagan Hudson Shares Traditional Country Gem ‘Mama’s Going to Rehab’

In terms of traditional, classic Country and Americana stylings, it doesn’t get any better than this. From his sleazy, imperfect vocals to the practical and friendly storytelling, Reagan Hudson is perhaps the last of the casual Country heroes; talented lyricists and troubadours with a keen eye for catchy and playful songs – often drenched in hidden melancholia and nostalgia.

‘Mama’s Going to Rehab’ is exactly that, a playful and quirky record with a certain pathos to it. Hudson’s vocal delivery is the perfect match for such a vivid, sharp and vibrant theme. Hailing from Vale, US, Reagan also crowns the track with a laidback arrangement featuring all the genre’s staples, from a lap steel guitar to a galloping, controlled drum groove.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the single, Hudson explains: “‘Mama’s Going to Rehab’ is a comedic look at a dysfunctional redneck family. Listen to the wild adventures the family has, as mama finds, love and rehabilitation at a court-ordered rehabilitation facility”.
