Pranatricks’ Sophomore Album ‘Elements of’ is a Psychedelic Ambient Masterpiece

‘Elements of’ is the second album from Vancouver-based singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Pranatricks in two years. It marks a rather significant stylistic departure from his debut record ‘Cherished’, and sees the musician exploring a more psychedelic ambient space.

Reminiscent of acts and artists like Khruangbin, Kurt Vile, Feist, and Chad VanGaalen, Pranatricks makes use of beautifully layered synths, crunched-up electric guitars, and deeply moving echoed vocal lines to craft a rich and immersive auditory experience. Lush and evocative, ‘Elements of’ is undoubtedly one of the best albums I’ve come across so far this year!

‘Cor-al’ gets the ball rolling, and the listener is immediately sucked into Pranatrick’s warm and ethereal world. ‘Falling’ then follows and can only be described as an absolutely stunning piece of music from a ridiculously talented artist.

Other tunes that hit me instantly were ‘Lights & Machines’, ‘Birds and the Bees’, and the record’s genius closer ‘Start to End’. In all honesty, however, the entire album deserves your full and undivided attention. It’s an offering of the highest order, and the best news is that Pranatricks is already hard at work on album number three! We can’t wait to hear more!
