Plastic Heart Look for a New Beginning in ‘Hear My Call’

It’s not our first rodeo with Mancunian alt-rock outfit Plastic Heart. Writing about ‘Tension’ late last year, we proudly described the group as having “an electrifying identity that keeps us on our toes, and yet it makes us dream and reflect”. We stand by our words; exploring the blur between melancholia and euphoria, the talented band offers a listening experience that’s unlike anything else we have heard before. It’s pungent, sharp, yet also heartwarming and attractive.

Quite the formula for an up-and-coming project. Following up on their recent shows all around the country, Plastic Heart have now unveiled their latest effort, ‘Hear My Call’. Safe to say we love it, it truly showcases the band’s continuous growth. In this case, the Manchester-based rockers are seen delving into a lighter indie livery, only to explode again in alt-rock fury during every chorus. Catchy, evocative and relatable: the track is everything we could ever wish for.

Lead singer Naomi Schofield’s vocals are incredibly anthemic and fierce in this instance, truly commanding the listeners’ attention and delivering legendary, introspective lyricism with dynamic delivery. ‘Hear My Call’ is part of Plastic Heart’s prominent rebranding, which sees them teaming up with the likes of producer Andy Gannon and photographer Liam Maxwell in what feels like a well-deserved step up.
