OCTAVIA FREUD & THE WEIRD SISTERS Deliver Synth-Driven Indie-Pop Tune ‘My Future’

‘My Future’ is hands down one of the most scintillating and intriguing new songs that I’ve come across this year. Courtesy of Oxford-based act OCTAVIA FREUD & THE WEIRD SISTERS, the electronic indie-pop tune takes inspiration from fellow English bands like Happy Mondays, Paris Angels, and New Fast Automatic Daffodils.

A throbbing bass and synth-driven track, ‘My Future’ is based on the famous opening scenes of Macbeth and the Weird Sisters’ prophecy that Macbeth will become the future king of the city. It all ties into a much larger project called ‘Mancbeth’, an electronic concept album that Martin Andrews (OCTAVIA FREUD) is concocting. Devised by actor and writer David Lemberg, ‘My Future’ is the first offering of what will eventually become a stage show, film, and immersive multimedia experience.

Taking me completely out of my musical comfort zone, OCTAVIA FREUD & THE WEIRD SISTERS have produced a fascinating and intricate song that, even when not playing, I find myself thinking about. It’s unlike anything I’ve heard, and that’s a serious rarity in today’s musical climate. Refusing to be placed in a genre, all I can do is suggest that you experience ‘My Future’ all for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!
