Myah Mayhew Unleashes Gritty Rock Classic ‘Prisonhouse’

Myah Mayhew is a Dallas-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who recently put out her incredible sophomore single in the form of ‘Prisonhouse’. Serving as the follow-up to her debut release ‘If I’d Known’, ‘Prisonhouse’ is a roots rock anthem that brings to mind acts like Heart and Larkin Poe. Gritty, intense, and unrestrained, the tune has a classic rock feel to it, and Myah’s vocal performance only enhances that perspective. Powerful and emotional, it’s the kind of voice that echoes through the depths of your being, connecting with something deeply primal and profound.

“‘Prisonhouse’ was an extremely vulnerable song for me to write,” says Mayhew. “It is inspired by some pretty deep experiences I went through in high school and I hope this song can be an anthem and form of catharsis for women and girls that went through what I witnessed”.

Inspired by groups like The Civil Wars, First Aid Kit, and the aforementioned Heart and Larkin Poe, I believe Myah Mayhew is poised to make serious waves in the industry with her fearless approach to songwriting. Her ability to channel raw emotions into music is undeniable, and she’s an artist that we’re extremely excited about following going forward.
