Teaming up with fellow rappers and hip-hop creatives Millz and B3, the American artist has recently unveiled ‘Keep it on me’, a tight, hard-hitting anthem that’s catchy and groovy, yet also haunting and fierce. Introduced by shimmering textures and airy tones, the single soon shifts into its main gear by offering a blend of bouncy, inventive trap elements with wider hip-hop influences.
MIST2’9 vocals are drenched in autotune fashion, especially in the chorus, with verses delivered with a more sombre, introspective tone. The flow is contrast and relatable, fully wrapping the listeners into relentless musical euphoria. Recorded between Los Angeles and Bakersfield and produced by Millz, the single saw MIST2’9 giving it the best quality he could afford, something that’s rather central to the project.
Speaking about the inspiration behind his artistry and records, the Bakersfield-based rapper explains: “If it doesn’t make money it doesn’t make sense. I agree with the saying if the music isn’t good enough to get play then the project shouldn’t get pushed.”
