Micheal Fordays Returns with Experimental Single ‘The Odds of Magic’

A familiar face on our blog, Micheal Fordays can be considered a true musical creative. Boasting an extensive career as a songwriter and composer, the Los Angeles-based talent is particularly at home in progressive rock and power pop territories, although he’s always ready to go a step further. ‘The Odds of Magic’ is the perfect evidence of that. Fordays’ latest effort, the single features “open chords, nontraditional voicings and resonating notations”, all oblique writing strategies that make the record sound incredibly otherworldly and hypnotising.

Micheal describes it as a ‘sonic dream’, an experimental take on his usual style. Recorded by Dave Klein, the final product is inherently powerful and mesmerizing, wrapping listeners into a feverish aural landscape, a place where Fordays’ imagination is able to run wild and free. Recorded by Dave Klein at his studio, ‘The Odds of Magic’ raises the tension in anticipation of the project’s upcoming album, taking the same title.

Speaking about the inspiration behind his work, Fordays explains: “I have been writing and recording for years. I can’t stop. I’m a fisher of stars. I reflect on my own journey and experiences. I sit in writing mode, and something always flashes out. Then I seize on the idea of seeing it to the highest level of performance and production possible.” That’s exactly what we can expect from Micheal in the near future.
