Martron Unleashes Hypnotising Electronic Record ‘Resurgence’

Boasting a high degree of hypnotising potential, ‘Resurgence’ is quite a curious record. You see, on the surface, it manifests as a sharp, digitally driven collecting of dubstep and IDM pieces. Yet, at a deeper look, one can clearly observe a hidden layer of meaning, a vibrant and cathartic layer supercharged by the talented human behind the record, Los Angeles-based producer Martron. A classically trained musician turned electronic hero, Martron has managed to carve out a space that’s uniquely his.

It’s a space that we feel blessed to enter. The references are rather eclectic, yet also precise. A wealth of roaring, distorted dubstep bass tones and garage-esque bouncy beats welcome bright female vocals and a stream of chopped-up samples, making ‘Resurgence’ suitable for a liminal solo listening session as well as a dance-inducing club night. Gaining support from the likes of  ODESZA, NGHTMRE, and Steve Aoki, among others, it’s clear that Martron is doing something right.

Speaking about the inspiration behind ‘Resurgence’, the American creative explains: “It is a powerful and diverse project about overcoming adversity and regaining your strength and identity. It’s about reminding yourself of who you are and unapologetically blossoming into that person, one who is stronger than you believe. It’s about the realisation that no obstacle is too big and no mountain is too steep, no matter how it looks, nothing or no one in this world can stop you from being you.”
