Lisa Michelle Anderson Shares Wholesome Album ‘Get to Somewhere’

Approaching ‘Get to Somewhere’ with understanding and kindness, we are aware that the album is of the utmost importance to its author, American songstress and musician Lisa Michelle Anderson. Crowning a rich and eclectic life, the record celebrates Anderson’s wholesome and heartwarming songwriting, often steeped in folk, rock and Americana goodness. Her vocal tone is rather hypnotising and welcoming, wrapping listeners into a simple yet rewarding aural universe, one that speaks directly to the diversity of human experience.

Balanced between roaring bops and more reflective pieces, ‘Get to Somewhere’ provides nine wonderful tracks, ranging from reflective and nostalgic gems such as ‘Were You Singing to Me?’ to striking and fuzzy episodes, such as the opener ‘Nickel and a Dime’. ‘Polaroid Summer’ is a refreshing jump into Americana and steel guitars, while ‘What Tomorrow Brings’ takes the album to a close in acoustic, country-flavoured fashion.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the record, Lisa Michelle explains: “It guides audiences through stories of love, loss, and life’s complexities with warmth and honesty”. We can only agree: ‘Get to Somewhere’ is a stunning effort, resembling an old friend, familiar yet always refreshing.
