Lilly Marshall Shares Wonderful Debut ‘Ocean Song’

Part of the new charge of outstanding pop talents, Lilly Marshall emerges from New Jersey with incredible poignancy and nuanced vocals. ‘Ocean Song’ is her debut effort, and it’s a triumph: a soothing, soulful and comforting gem, the record marks Marshall’s first release to date, showcasing all the wonderful artistry the young newcomer has to offer. Judging by ‘Ocean Song’, we are in for a real treat. Balanced over classic pop tones and modern indie formulas, the track build on acoustic and organic material, providing the perfect framework for Lilly’s impressive vocal tone.

Among solemn grand pianos, introspective drums and shining guitars, ‘Ocean Song’ is one of the most impressive offerings we have heard in a while: at only 19-years-old, Marshall is here to stay. Championing a wanderlust attitude, the American songstress seems to mirror the need for travelling and discovering new places in her music. Her debut effort echoes the willingness to embark on a journey, looking for space, resolution and personal growth.

Lyrically, ‘Ocean Song’ explores the idea of accepting other people’s flaws, even if that means they can love you not as much as you’d like them to. Co-written by Marshall, Swersky, and Brielle Brown, the track also features the help of Grammy-winning songwriter/producer Marc Swersky.
